On the last Tuesday of January, Shetland celebrates its Viking heritage, with its world famous fire festival. Over 900 vikings will take to the streets of Lerwick, kitted out in leather and chain mail, illuminated by the flame that they carry.
In preparation for Up Helly Aa, our master distiller, Stuart Nickerson, is tasked with creating a unique blend to mark the festival. Replicating the heat and smokiness of the festival, our previous editions have been matured in whisky casks, infusing the gin with a hint of spice, and a touch of woody tones.
This year is no exception, Stuart has been busy preparing 2019's batch, and you are in for a treat. This year's limited edition will be available to buy on Monday 28th January and with a limited number of bottles, we are expecting it sell out quickly.
