Shetland Reel Botanicals
Our concept was to make a traditional style gin using many of the botanicals used in the great gins of the past. In our recipes we include juniper berries, coriander seeds, orris root, cinnamon and citrus peel, but add a unique Shetland twist with locally harvested Apple Mint and Bladderwrack Seaweed.
Shetland Reel Original Gin
Our award winning craft gin affectionately captures the nature of our island. Our signature recipe uses the sweet scented leaves of apple mint grown and harvested on Unst giving a unique authentic flavour of Shetland.
Key Botanicals: Applemint, lemon peel, orange peel, juniper, coriander
Tasting notes: The nose has a hint of juniper with a subtle mix of spices and citrus. The initial palate has juniper, mixed spice, sweetness with a citrus tang and a refreshing hint of mint at the end. The finish is clean and fresh.

SHETLAND REEL OCEAN SENT GIN
Influenced from the seas that surround our island, Ocean Sent Gin features native bladderwrack. The distinctive and nutritious seaweed is gathered from the rocks of the Shetland coastline and distilled to our unique recipe resulting in a surprising depth of flavour from the shores of Unst.
Key Botanicals: Bladderwrack seaweed, lemon peel, orange peel, juniper, coriander
Tasting Notes: The nose has traditional juniper with subtle hints of salt and spice. The palate holds traditional London dry juniper but with a complex twist of saltiness and warmth. The finish is long and brings you right to the crashing ocean!

SHETLAND REEL SIMMER GIN
Inspired by our magical skies, Simmer Gin is a refreshing aromatic gin created in celebration of Shetland's summer twilight, known locally as the Simmer Dim. The long summer days and lasting amber skies at sunset influence the eight botanicals in our recipe including orange peel and liquorice root.
Key Botanicals: Coriander, cumin, orange peel, juniper and liquorice
Tasting Notes: The nose opens with strong juniper followed by sweet orange. On the palate the juniper is reduced and it becomes sweet, very sweet orange and liquorice with a lingering finish.

SHETLAND REEL FILSKA GIN
Inspired by local Shetland dialect, Filska means high-spirited and flighty, which is represented in this citrussy, zesty red grapefruit gin!
Key Botanicals: Grapefruit, coriander, juniper
Tasting Notes: Filska is a citrus forward gin with bursts of grapefruit and a warming cinnamon finish.

Shetland Reel Wild Fire
Taking inspiration from Ann Cleeves' award-winning Shetland series, Wild Fire is a balanced London Dry Gin with juniper and sweet spice notes that have a lingering and warming finish.
Key Botanicals: Orange peel, peppercorn, coriander, juniper, chilli and mustard seeds
Tasting Notes: Tasted neat, there are notes of warming cinnamon and sweet orange that linger on the palate. The long finish has an aromatic spice with a touch of heat from dried red chillies.

SHETLAND REEL RHUBARB AND BRAMBLE LIQUEUR
Inspired by freshly grown local ingredients, our Rhubarb & Bramble liqueur is produced using our award winning Original Gin, foraged brambles and home-grown Rhubarb.
Key Ingredients: Rhubarb and brambles
Tasting Notes: This liqueur has a sweet fruit aroma, matching its vibrant colour, and delicate juniper notes. There is a burst of fresh Scottish brambles, sweet rhubarb and a subtle freshness from the apple mint used in the Original gin base. Notes of rhubarb and custard sweets linger on the finish.
